Emmanuel Edmund scores hattrick as Pillars trash Shooting Stars 6-0 in Kano

Kano Pillars recorded their biggest home win in the NPFL since September 22, 2004 when they defeated Gombe United 7-1 with a 6-0 victory over the Shooting Stars of Ibadan at the Sanni Abacha Stadium.

Emmanuel Edmund was the star of the day has he scored three goals in 45 minutes to join Wasiu Jimoh, Rabiu Ali, Kingsley Eduwo as the only players to have scored hat-trick in the NPFL this season.

Ifeanyi Matthew opened the scoring for Pillars with his 11th minute low drive, Emmanuel Edmund doubled Pillars tally and registered his first on the night on the 37th minutes.

It was 2-0 to Pillars at half time, but 13th minutes after the start of the 2nd half Emmanuel Edmund scored his 2nd on the night and Pillars’ third of the day, on the 82nd minutes he scored his third of the day and Pillars 4th to put the game beyond the Oluyole Warriors.

It looked like it was just going to be 4nil in favour of Pillars but two late goals from Adamu Mohammed and Nafiu Ibrahim condemned Shooting Stars to their worst defeat in long while.

The defeat means Shooting Stars are still without a point on the road having lost all their away games, and Pillars maintained their 100% home record.
