Former Chelsea player Karen Carney has credited Fulham manager Marco Silva for Alex Iwobi’s outstanding performances this season.
Iwobi has been in top form for Fulham, playing a key role in the team’s success. On Thursday, he scored both goals in Fulham’s 2-1 victory over Brighton. This brings his season tally to five goals and three assists in the Premier League.
Speaking on Premier League Productions after the match, Carney praised Silva for helping Iwobi reach his potential.
“He has always worked hard, but now he’s showing his quality. Playing in a central role gave him more responsibility. At 28, he’s matured and become an experienced player under a manager who knows how to bring out the best in him. Marco Silva is doing that with Alex Iwobi,” Carney said.
She also noted how Iwobi’s shift to central midfield has greatly improved his game, making him more effective for Fulham.
Iwobi’s form has been crucial for Fulham, who are now sixth in the Premier League standings, making him one of the standout players in the team this season.
