Heerenveen’s Hamdi Akujobi first of the invited 8-foreign pros to arrive as Flying Eagles begin training in Germany

Of the eight invited foreign-based players for the U20 World Cup camp, SC Heerenveen midfielder Hamdi Akujobi was the first to as the Flying Eagles begin their preparation for the 2019 FIFA World Youth Championship.

Samuel Chukwueze who was in action last night for his Spanish side Villarreal, City’s Dele-Bashiru, Norway-based duo of Igho Ogbu and Jerome Akor are among the eight invited foreign-based players.

The team had their first training in their Germany camp under coach Paul Aigbogun watch.

According to reports the proposed friendly match for the Flying Eagles may not hold tomorrow as planned.

Coach Aigbogun is expected to name his final 21-man squad for the U20 World Cup in Poland by the first week of May.

Nigeria will play their first match in Poland against Qatar on May 24.
