Henry Onyekuru comes under criticism from Anderlecht manager
Nigerian international and Everton loanee Henry Onyekuru has once again come under fire from Anderlecht manager Hein Vanhaezebrouck.
The Anderlecht boss has not been shy to come down hard on the performances of the Super Eagles youngster this season, and he has once again hit out at the 20- year-old player.
Onyekuru was only a second-half substitute in Anderlecht’s 5-0 loss to Club Brugge this past weekend – his teamwas 3-0 down by the time of his introduction – but Vanhaezebrouck still found a way to pin some blame on the Nigerian.
“It does not make much sense to put Onyekuru at the center, but when he is standing there, he does not move, and he just moves to the left… he always lets himself down,” Vanhaezebrouck was quoted as saying by voetbalkrant.com.
He added, “He does score now and then, but the last few weeks have not been as good either, his contribution went down.”
Onyekuruhas netted nine goals in 18 league appearances to be the co-leading scorer in the Belgian top flight.
