Hilda Baci: The fitness behind a 100hour World record activity, a tribute

A Nigerian Chef Hilda Baci ( Hilda Bassey Effiong ) has since Thursday May 11 been involved in a Guinness World Record attempt for the “longest cooking marathon by an individual”. In this article, SPORTSRATION pays tribute to the fitness behind a 100hour World record activity.

Here we look away from the activity (cooking) to the stamina, endurance and strength to carry out physical activity for 4+ days without slumber.

HOW LONG HAS SHE BEEN WORKING

Chef Hilda began the competition on Thursday May 11 when she turned on her cooker at 4pm. To surpass the previous world record holder in the morning of Monday May 15, she hit a 87 hours 50 minutes mark. An outrageously huge period of activity.

That marked the start of her push towards her personal mark, a new Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.

WHERE IS THE ACTIVITY HAPPENING

Baci’s cooking marathon is currently ongoing at Amore Gardens in Lekki, Lagos State.

WHAT DOES SHE DO TO KEEP FIT

Having conceived the thoughts of attempting a Guinness record 5-years ago, Hilda hired A trainer to prepare her for the physical requirements of a 100 hour long activity.
That will require massive weight loss and exercises to built Physical stamina.
She started an intensive workout in 2022 to shed weight and hired celebrity Gym coach, former BBN house mate Kemen. She had acknowledged her former weight couldn’t carry her Guinness World Record dream.
It worked out perfectly well. She was able to withstand the challenges, defying sleep and stress  for 100+ hours.
