How Manchester United plan to raise funds for Victor Osimhen transfer
English Premier League giants, Manchester United are reportedly planning to launch a bid to sign Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen in the summer.
To make this possible, the Red Devils have drawn a plan which includes offloading three first-team players with the proceeds helping to settle Osimhen’s transfer clause with Napoli.
According to multiple sources, three-time UEFA Champions League winners, Manchester United, are considering parting ways with Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund.
Recall that the 26-year-old striker was clearly eyeing a move to the English Premier League from Napoli last summer, with Chelsea leading the chase but that move fell through on deadline day, so he joined Galatasaray on a season-long loan.
In the two years, Manchester United have spent over £100m to develop the striking position over the past two seasons (£36.5m for Joshua Zirkzee and £64m for Rasmus Hojlund), but these deals have not helped lift the club back to the top-four.
Victor Osimhen’s contract with Napoli runs till the summer of 2026, with the option of extending for another year. It is clear that Napoli will not any sum less than the €75m release clause included in the 2023 African Player of the Year’s contract.
Manchester United are expected to have keen competition from Chelsea and Arsenal both of whom have been linked to Victor Osimhen over the last one-year.
