How the departure of Amrouche will affect Nigeria-Libya ties – Rohr

Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr has had his say on how the departure of Adel Amrouche will affect his sides double-header tie against Libya in their AFCON qualifier games.

Days to their clash against Nigeria, Adel Amrouche who has led the team to the top of the table after two games left his role over unpaide salaries and wages.

Gernot Rohr who is aware of the threat the Libyans post explained that Adel Amrouche’s departure wouldn’t affect The Mediterranean Knights performance against Nigeria.

“His (Amrouche) exit has not changed anything. We have seen the team on video. They played very well against South Africa and during the World Cup qualifiers as well. The team still have the same players.”

“The coach can be changed, but the assistants are still there with the same set of players. It’s not going to be an easy game because of this. Sometimes its even difficult when a new coach comes in.

“Because everyone want to show what they can do. We are preparing well for our game. We know they have a very good defence and defensive organisations and they play good counter-attacks also, but we are happy to play in Uyo on this pitch.

“We lost our first game against South Africa which means we have to win and there’s no doubt we have to go out to win the game, but we have to be careful because they are strong on the counter attacks.”

Nigeria will play the first ga e of the double header in Uyo on Saturday before playing the second leg on Tuesday in Tunisia.
