Huge Blow for Super Eagles and Atalanta as Ademola Lookman Remains Out

Atalanta BC will face another challenge in Serie A without their key player, Ademola Lookman, who will miss the match against Cagliari on Saturday, February 15. The Super Eagles of Nigeria will also be affected with crucial World Cup qualifiers coming up in March.

This is a major setback for Atalanta, who are looking to bounce back after a disappointing 2-1 loss to Club Brugge in the first leg of their Champions League playoff. They will need to focus on getting back to winning ways in Serie A before the crucial second leg next week.

Lookman, who has been one of Atalanta’s best performers this season, has been missing for a few matches now. He was also absent for the Champions League game against Brugge due to a knee injury he picked up during training ahead of the clash with Barcelona. This injury is a recurrence of a bruise he suffered in a match against Como in January. Since then, Lookman has missed five games and the team has only managed to win one of those.

The absence of Lookman has been felt by the team, especially in attack, as his contribution has been vital. Lookman has scored four goals and provided one assist in six Champions League matches. Atalanta will be hoping to overcome his absence and get a good result against Cagliari, but they have struggled without him.

Although Lookman has started light training, he was not fit enough to be included in the squad for the match against Club Brugge. While it was hoped that he would return by the end of February, it now seems that his recovery is taking longer than expected.
