Hugo González Leads Celtics Past 76ers in Overtime to Complete Perfect Preseason

The Boston Celtics wrapped up their preseason campaign with a hard-fought 125-120 overtime victory over the Philadelphia 76ers, finishing with a perfect 4-0 record.

Hugo González delivered an impressive performance, recording 21 points, four rebounds and three assists to help Boston secure the road win. The young forward played a key role in the Celtics’ success, making a strong contribution as the team completed its preparations for the upcoming regular season.

Boston faced a determined Philadelphia side, with neither team able to settle the contest in regulation. The game eventually went into overtime, where the Celtics did enough to pull away and claim a five-point victory.

Luka Garza also contributed for Boston, finishing with 13 points, six rebounds and two three-pointers. Gabe McGlothan added six points and 13 rebounds, providing a valuable presence on the glass.

The victory capped an encouraging preseason for the Celtics, who won all four of their games. Maintaining that momentum will be important as they prepare for the start of the regular season and look to establish themselves as a competitive force.

González’s performance was one of the notable positives from the contest, while contributions from Garza and McGlothan highlighted Boston’s depth.

Although preseason results do not determine regular-season success, the Celtics will take confidence from their unbeaten run as they turn their attention to the challenges ahead. Philadelphia, meanwhile, will look to learn from the defeat and continue working toward its regular-season opener.
