I broke my hand celebrating Iwobi’s late winner against Newcastle – Lampard

Everton manager Frank Lampard has confirmed that he broke his hand while celebrating Alex Iwobi’s last-minute goal in their 1-0 win against Newcastle on Thursday.

Relegation battling Everton secured a 1-0 win against Newcastle despite ending the game one man less than their opponents after Allan’s 83rd minute’s red card.

With the game heading for the final whistle, Alex Iwobi combined with Calvert-Lewin to score a 90+9 minutes goal that sent fans at Goodison Park into Frenzy.

Frank Lampard and the Everton players on the bench also joined in the celebration.

“I’ve broken my hand by the way in the celebrations,” said Frank Lampard to Amazon.

“I’ll take it for the three points.

“I didn’t realise at the time but as the game went on, it was a bit sore and shaky.

“But I don’t care.”
