Ibom Air Airlifts Akwa United to Lagos Ahead of Ekiti Clash

Akwa United have been airlifted to Lagos by club sponsors, Ibom Air, as the team begins its journey to Ekiti for their first away match of the 2025/2026 Nigeria National League season.
The Promise Keepers will face Ekiti United on Sunday, 30 November, at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium, Ado-Ekiti, with kickoff set for 3pm. The team travelled in comfort and confidence, expressing pride in flying with Ibom Air as they prepare for a crucial Week Three fixture.
Akwa United have made an excellent start to the new campaign, winning both of their opening home matches. They defeated Solution FC 2–0 and followed up with a 1–0 victory over Abakiliki FC, keeping two clean sheets and collecting maximum points.
This weekend marks their first test away from home as they look to extend their winning run and strengthen their promotion push back to the Nigeria Premier Football League.
Ekiti United, meanwhile, began their season with a 1–0 win over Stormmers before losing 2–1 to Rovers FC in their second match. Sunday’s encounter will be the first-ever meeting between the two sides.
The smooth airlift to Lagos is part of the partnership agreement signed between Akwa United and Ibom Air in October, aimed at boosting the club throughout the season.
The match will be available for live streaming on the league’s media platforms, while Akwa United will also provide live updates on all official social media pages.
With focus high and spirits lifted by their sponsors’ support, the Promise Keepers will go into the tie aiming for another three points away from home.
