Ibom Angels Vs Bayelsa Queens: Akwa Ibom FA sends message to Orange ladies ahead of first home game of the season
The Akwa Ibom State Football Association (AKSFA) has called on fans to rally behind Ibom Angels Football Club as they prepare for their first home game of the 2024/2025 NWFL Premiership season. Ibom Angels will face Bayelsa Queens on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, in Matchday 2 of the ongoing season. The match will take place at the Uyo Township Stadium at 4:00 PM.
In the opening round of the season, Ibom Angels suffered a 2-1 defeat to Rivers Angels in Port Harcourt, but put up a strong performance against one of the top female football teams in the country. On the other hand, Bayelsa Queens secured a 1-0 win over Delta Queens in Yenagoa.
The Chairman of the Akwa Ibom State Football Association, Mr. Samuel Umoh, expressed confidence in Ibom Angels’ ability to bounce back from their opening-day loss. He praised the team for their impressive display against Rivers Angels and urged them to build on that performance as they prepare for their home crowd.
“Despite the loss to Rivers Angels, our girls showed great potential and played well. I am confident they will bounce back stronger and give their best to secure a win against Bayelsa Queens,” said Mr. Umoh. “The FA stands fully behind Ibom Angels and will provide all the support needed to ensure a smooth and successful game. We urge our fans to come out in large numbers to cheer the team on and create a fantastic atmosphere for the players.”
Mr. Umoh further assured the team that the Akwa Ibom FA would ensure all logistics are in place for a smooth and enjoyable match. He called on the fans to be present at the stadium to support Ibom Angels as they aim for victory on home soil.
