Ibom Youths FC captain Nsikak Slyvanus confident ahead of Nationwide League One season

Nsikak Slyvanus, captain of Ibom Youths FC, has expressed his team’s readiness for the upcoming 2023/2024 Nationwide League One (NLO) season, affirming their aim to secure promotion back to the Nigeria National League (NNL).

After suffering relegation from the NNL last season, Ibom Youths FC will commence their campaign in the Nationwide League this season, with the opening match set to kick off on April 20, 2024, in Calabar.

In an interview with IbomYouths Media, the seasoned defender shared his team’s aspirations for the upcoming season, stating, “We are very ready for the Nationwide League season. I am speaking the mind of my teammates when I say we are going to Calabar with one target. We want to secure promotion back to the Nigeria National League.”

Slyvanus emphasised the team’s past success in conquering the division, highlighting their determination to reclaim their spot in the NNL. “We have been here before and conquered the division, and so we will go out there to get our team back into the NNL,” he concluded.

Ibom Youths FC will face stiff competition from nine other teams in the Calabar Center as they vie for glory from April 20 to May 8, 2024. The participating teams in the center include Sir Monty FC, Hope of Glory FC, Nordic Academy, Palm Syrup FC, Fresh Talent, Krane FC, Essien Ayi FC, P Sports Academy, Vandrezzer Feeders, and FC ONA Pal.
