Iheanacho Scores Again as Bursaspor Move Second in Turkey

Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho continued his impressive scoring run after finding the net in Bursaspor’s 2-0 victory over Pendikspor on Monday evening.

The Nigerian forward scored in the 62nd minute at Matlı Stadyumu Atatürk Spor Kompleksi to help Bursaspor secure back-to-back wins and strengthen their promotion hopes.

Halil Akbunar had opened the scoring for the hosts in the 10th minute before Iheanacho doubled their lead in the second half.

The 30-year-old capitalised on a defensive error that allowed Bursaspor to launch an attack. Lincoln delivered a cross into the penalty area, and Iheanacho rose unmarked to head the ball into the net.

The goal extended his scoring streak to 11 consecutive matches in Turkish football, making him the only player to achieve the feat, according to reports.

Iheanacho Reaches 15 Goals for Bursaspor

The strike took Iheanacho’s goal tally for Bursaspor to 15, while his four assists brought his total goal contributions to 19 in 10 matches.

His impressive form has made him an important player in Bursaspor’s push for promotion.

The victory moved Bursaspor into second place on the table with 25 points, just one point behind league leaders Kayserispor.

The Green Crocodiles will next face Keçiörengücü on Sunday, with Iheanacho hoping to extend his scoring streak and help his team maintain its winning run.
