Iheanacho Scores As Leicester City defeat Swansea City to extend English Championship Lead

Nigerian striker, Kelechi Iheanacho scored the third and final goal as Leicester City FC defeated Swansea City to extend their English Championship Lead.

Iheanacho came on as a substitute for veteran English forward, Jamie Vardy in the 83rd minute to score the third goal as Leicester City FC defeated Swansea 1-3 in the English Championship week 12 clash.

That goal was a follow up on his brilliant strike for Nigeria in the 2-2 International Friendly draw vs Saudi Arabia on October 13 in Portugal.

Iheanacho’s International teammate, Wilfred Ndidi kept his place in midfield days after being named joint winner of the Leicester City September goal of the month award.

The Foxes fell behind after 20 minutes following a goal by Matt Grimes.

The Foxes bounced back just before half-time courtesy of a strike from Jannik Vestergaard.

In the 63rd minute, Leicester City took the lead through Isahaku Fatawu.

Iheanacho was sent on by Coach Enzo Maresca in the 83rd minute, and it took him just three minutes to make his impact felt as he scored in the 87th minute.

Iheanacho got on the end of a pass from midfield and made a fast move forward . The forward was lucky to get the final touch to score and seal a 1-3 win for Leicester City FC.

The 27-year-old Nigerian international has taken his tally in the Championship to five goals and one assist in 12 games.

In all competitions , Iheanacho has scored six goals and assisted two others in 14 appearances.

With the victory over Swansea City FC, Leicester City FC have gathered 33 points to extend their lead over second placed Ipswich to five points on the English Championship table as they eye instant promotion back to the English Premier League.
