Ikorodu City, Enugu Rangers, Kwara United, and Abakaliki FC reach President Federation Cup semi-finals
Four teams have booked their places in the semi-finals of the 2025 President Federation Cup after an exciting round of quarter-final matches.
Ikorodu City, a Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) club from Lagos, made history by reaching the semi-finals for the first time. They beat Wikki Tourists 1-0 in Abuja, thanks to a second-half penalty from Shola Adelani. Despite playing with 10 men after Leonard Ngenge was sent off, Ikorodu held on for the win.
Enugu Rangers, one of Nigeria’s most successful clubs, also moved into the last four. The six-time champions edged past Plateau United 1-0, with Chidozie Okorie scoring the only goal in the first half.
In another match, Kwara United came from behind twice to draw 2-2 with Akwa United. Wasiu Alalade scored both goals for Kwara before they won the penalty shootout 5-3 to progress.
The biggest surprise came from Abakaliki FC, a team from the Nigeria National League, who drew 1-1 with Nasarawa United and went on to win 5-4 on penalties. Abakaliki FC had earlier knocked out Enyimba in the Round of 16.
