Ilechukwu hints at Odey departure?
The headcoach of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Football club Fidelis Ilechukwu has hinted that the club’s star striker Stephen Odey could leave the club next season.
Stephen Odey with 18 goals is the Nigeria Professional Football League top scorer, his goals have fired the Lagos based club to the 2nd place in the log with three points behind the league leaders, Plateau United and his coach believes he could be on his way out of the club.
Fidelis Ilechukwu was quoted to have said:”I believe this is football, anybody can come and go just like the barracks.
“Stephen Odey will not be with us next season because of the numerous offers we have being receiving for his service, but we had an agreement that he will stay till the end of the season.”
He posited that he has the ability to produce more young talents and expressed optimism that he will find a better replacement for the striker.
Odey who has been capped once for Nigeria will be hoping to lead the CHAN Eagles to victory against Benin Republic on August 13, it is however uncertain if he will be in Kenya next year should the Eagles qualify.
