In-Form Yahaya Ibrahim receives Super Eagles B invitation
Kwara United’s standout defender, Yahaya Ibrahim, has been called up to join the Super Eagles B team as they prepare for the upcoming CHAN qualifiers against Ghana.
This selection comes as part of head coach Austin Eguavoen’s initiative to assemble a strong squad composed of players from the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
Last week, Eguavoen extended invitations to 35 players who gathered in Abuja for two intensive training sessions before returning to their respective clubs. The players are set to reconvene this week, and the squad will feature fresh faces, including Blessed Stars Academy product, Yahaya Ibrahim, whose impressive performances have caught the eye of the national team coaches.
Yahaya Ibrahim’s recent form has been exceptional; in a recent match against Akwa United FC, he contributed an assist, although Kwara United ultimately fell to a 2-1 defeat in Uyo. His ability to perform consistently at a high level has solidified his place among Nigeria’s top talents, and his selection for the Super Eagles B team reflects his potential to make an impact on the international stage.
The inclusion of Ibrahim is expected to bolster the team’s defensive options as they prepare for the crucial qualifiers.
