Inauguration game of Remodeled Uyo Township Stadium to be handled by Akwa Ibom`s first Female FIFA Referee

The Akwa Ibom State Referees Council has appointed FIFA Referee Mfon Akpan to take charge of the Inauguration game of the Uyo Township Stadium.

Just like the strategic message a game between Secondary schools will carry, the Council has adopted similar strategy in appointing it’s first ever female FIFA badged Referee for the game.

A signal, of the Council’s drive to recruit more female Referees from secondary schools who will in the near future shine like FIFA Mfon Akpan will when she leads out the officiating crew for the inauguration game.

Other appointed Match officials are Austin Onyika (AR1), Uboho Sunday (AR2), Nsikakabasi Akpan (RR) and the Council Chairman Elder Joseph Bassey who will serve as Match Commissioner.

Kick-off for the match will be determined by conclusion of official commissioning protocols by the Mr Udom Emmanuel led Akwa Ibom State Government which will commence by 2pm.
