Incredible Brighton comeback stuns 10-man Manchester City

Brighton secure first victory against Manchester City since April 1989

Brighton and Hove Albion completed a brilliant second half comeback against Premier League champions, Manchester City as they came from two goals down to win 3-2 at the Amex Stadium, ending Manchester City’s 12 game away winning streak.

Manchester City opened the scoring through German midfielder Ilkay Gundogan in the 2nd minute of the game, before Portuguese full back Joao Cancelo was sent off controversially 8 minutes later. Youngster Phil Foden added a second barely three minutes after half-time. Leandro Trossard pulled one back for the Seagulls in the 50th minute before a quickfire double from Adam Webster and Dan Burn in the 72nd and 76th minutes saw the Seagulls pick up a stunning victory against the champions.

Brighton and Hove Albion have secured their stay in the Premier League and this was their first win over Manchester City since April 1989 in the second division. The win for Brighton ended Manchester City’s record 12 successive away wins in the Premier League.
