Isaac Success on target as Watford trash Fortuna Düsseldorf in Austria

Super Eagles striker Isaac Success was on target as Watford beat Fortuna Düsseldorf 3-1 in their last pre-season match in Austria on Saturday.

Goals from Isaac Success, Odion Ighalo former striker partner Troy Deeney and late strike from Jerome Sinclair ensured the English side head back to their base in high spirit.

Isaac Success who spent the later part of 2017-18 season on loan at Malaga was given he nodd to start the game by Javi Garcia and the former Granada striker rewarded the gaffer with his strike.

Success put his side in front when tapped in Gray’s cross at the far post. A long ball from Marc Navarro found Gray when outpaced his marker before teeing up Isaac.

The Hornets were pegged back by former Burnley forward Rouwen Hennings who found some space on the edge of the area before directing his volley into the far corner.

At half time scoreline remained 1-1 draw and at the start of second half, Isaac Success and other 10 players who started the first half were replaced by new 11 players.

Watford regained the lead soon after. Some well-worked play in midfield released wing-back Daryl Janmaat, whose whipped cross was met by the head of Deeney to restore the lead.

With less than five minutes to go the Hornets were rewarded for their good play. Some lovely one-touch passing from Ken Sema and Deeney put it on a plate for Sinclair, who calmly slotted home.

Garcia’s side will now head back to England for games against Stevenage, Brentford and Sampdoria before the Premier League season kicks on 11 August against Brighton at Vicarage Road.
