Iva Jovic Reaches Beijing Round of 16 for the First Time

Iva Jovic has continued her impressive rise by reaching the Round of 16 at the Beijing Open for the first time after defeating Kamilla Rakhimova 6-1, 7-5.

The 18-year-old American showed great composure after falling behind 2-5 in the second set, winning five consecutive games to complete a strong comeback and secure her place in the next round.

The victory marks Jovic’s fourth WTA 1000 Round of 16 appearance, highlighting the consistency she has already shown despite her young age.

Jovic now faces a major challenge in the Round of 16, where she will take on Iga Swiatek. The matchup gives the rising American another opportunity to test herself against one of the biggest names in women’s tennis.
