James and Love lead Cavs to victory, Knicks extend winning streak to four

NBA rookie Kristaps Porzingis had a double-double as the New York Knicks posted their fourth consecutive win, a 107-102 victory over the slumping Houston Rockets on Saturday.

Porzingis posted 24 points, 14 rebounds and seven blocks to help extend the Knicks’ winning streak on the road in Houston.

The 20-year-old Latvian forward – taken with the number one pick in the 2015 Draft – has tallied six double-doubles in his first 14 games in the NBA.

Arron Afflalo contributed 16 points, while Carmelo Anthony added 14 for the Knicks, who snapped an 11-game losing streak against the Rockets.

James Harden’s 24 points and 10 assists were not enough to prevent the Rockets from crashing to back-to-back defeats.

The Cleveland Cavaliers accounted for the Atlanta Hawks 109-97 thanks to LeBron James and Kevin Love.

James had 19 points and 11 rebounds in a double-double performance as the Cavs trumped the Hawks in their first meeting since sweeping the Atlanta franchise in Eastern Conference finals.

Love scored a season-high 25 points to go with his 11 rebounds.

The Hawks were led by Paul Millsap and Kyle Korver, who sank 14 points apiece.

Elsewhere, the Memphis Grizzlies and their four-game winning streak came to an end at the hands of the San Antonio Spurs following a 92-82 road loss.

Kawhi Leonard top-scored for the Spurs with 19 points while Tony Parker added 18.

Mike Conley (16) and Courtney Lee (15) were the Grizzlies’ leading point-getters in San Antonio.

The Washington Wizards held on to beat the Detroit Pistons 97-95.

A 17-point deficit was not enough to stop the Miami Heat, who survived 96-91 against the winless Philadelphia 76ers.

The Indiana Pacers were too good for the Milwaukee Bucks 123-86, while the Sacramento Kings trumped the Orlando Magic 97-91.
