Jamie Vardy, Leicester City condemn Pep Guardiola to first ever 5-goal defeat

Jamie Vardy scored three goals as Leicester City trashed Manchester City 5-2 at the Etihad Stadium in a Premier League game on Sunday.

The match at the Etihad Stadium was Pep Guardiola’s 686th game as a manager and it was one which ended on a sad note.

Riyad Mahrez opened the scoring for the hosts, but Jamie Vardy restored parity from a spot kick for a 1-1 scoreline at half time.

The second half was all Leicester City who came all out firing from all cylinders, and were rewarded with a goal from Jamie Vardy.

It became three when Jamie Vardy scored from the spot kick again to complete his hat-trick becoming again the only player to score a top-flight league hat-trick against a side managed by Pep Guardiola.

He has done it twice against a team managed by Pep Guardiola, first was in 2016 and now.

James Maddison came off the bench to make it four for Leicester City before Nathan Ake reduced the deficit to two goals.

Again for the third time in the game a penalty was awarded to Leicester City and Youri Tielemans converted for Leicester City’s 5th.

On Pep Guardiola’s 686th game as a manager, a team managed by the Spaniard suffered a five-goal loss for the first time ever.
