Jay-Jay Okocha Says Osimhen Could Stay at Galatasaray
Former Super Eagles captain and Fenerbahçe star, Austin Jay-Jay Okocha, has spoken about the future of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, who just finished a fantastic season with Galatasaray.
Osimhen joined the Turkish club on loan from Napoli last September after issues with his parent club. Since then, he has been in top form, scoring 37 goals and giving eight assists in 41 matches. He helped Galatasaray win both the Turkish Super Lig and the Turkish Cup.
Many big European clubs, including Manchester United, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, and Saudi side Al-Hilal, have shown interest in signing him. Galatasaray also hopes to keep him permanently.
Okocha, who played in Turkey for Fenerbahçe, shared his thoughts during an interview with Turkish TV.
“I remember the fans and the food during my time at Fenerbahçe. I had a great two years there,” he said.
Speaking about Osimhen, Okocha said:
“Turkey is a great place to play football. Sometimes, footballers need to make sacrifices. Osimhen had a fantastic season with Galatasaray. He’s happy there, so why not stay? I love Turkey – and I believe he does too.”
Okocha added, “I don’t know where he’ll play next season, but I wish him the best in whatever he decides.”
For now, Osimhen has not confirmed his next move. Fans are waiting to see where he will play in the 2025/2026 season.
