Jigawa Golden Stars gets new board

Jigawa Golden Stars will be competing in the Nationwide League One (NLO) next season. It is now official that a new management board has been appointed as part of efforts to revive the club’s fortunes.

The Jigawa State government made the announcement in a press release, stating that Gambo Umar Labbo will serve as the new chairman of the board, which includes 11 other members.

The new board members have been given the crucial task of restoring the club’s lost glory following their relegation from the Nigeria National League (NNL) last season. Jigawa Golden Stars, once a prominent name in Nigerian football, now face the challenge of rebuilding and reclaiming their position in the higher leagues.

The board members are expected to resume their duties immediately, with their focus set on preparing the team for the upcoming Nationwide League season, scheduled to begin in March 2025. Their mandate includes not only improving the team’s performance on the pitch but also enhancing the club’s structure and operations off the field.

Jigawa Golden Stars have a rich history in Nigerian football, and fans will be hoping the new board can lead the club back to its former success.
