Joel Obi knocks on Eagles door with another bang
Joel Chukwuma Obi is knocking hardly on Super Eagles door as the Nigerian midfielder continue his fine form for his Italian Serie A side, Torino, on Sunday.
The former Inter Millan midfielder who was on target last week when his side played a 1-1 draw with Sassoulo put his name on the scorer’s sheet again with a fine finish as Torino trashed Benevento 3-0 at the Stadio Olimpico Grande.
Iago Falqué put the hosts in front in the 3rd minutes before Mbaye Niang made it two in the 40th minute, five minutes after their second goal Joel Obi made it three.
Joel Obi was removed for Christian Ansaldi in the 71st minute of the clash.
The midfielder who has scored 2 goals in his last two games will be hoping he force his way into the Super Eagles team under Gernot Rohr having missed out because of injuries and being overlooked by past managers.
