John Noble confident in Super Eagles’ CHAN chances
Nigeria’s goalkeeper, John Noble, has expressed strong confidence in the Super Eagles’ ability to win the African Nations Championship (CHAN) for the first time, despite being drawn in a tough Group D alongside Sudan, Congo, and defending champions Senegal.
Speaking about the group, Noble acknowledged the challenge but maintained that Nigeria is up to the task.
“The group is tough, as expected, because every team worked really hard to qualify,” Noble said in an interview with Flashscore. “To be the best team in Africa, you have to face the best teams.”
Noble emphasised the importance of being ready for every game, dismissing any fear of facing the defending champions.
“Senegal may be the defending champions, but that’s history now,” he stated. “The results won’t be decided in newspapers but on the pitch during the 90 minutes. I truly believe our Super Eagles can handle the challenge.”
The experienced goalkeeper also suggested that Senegal might be more concerned about facing Nigeria.
“I don’t see any reason to panic about being in the same group with them. Honestly, I think they are more worried about playing Nigeria because of our strong football reputation and what we’re capable of achieving,” Noble said confidently.
Despite the past achievements of Congo and Sudan, Noble remains convinced that Nigeria has what it takes to go all the way and win the tournament.
“Our team must stay focused and determined. With the right mindset, I believe we can achieve something special at this competition,” he concluded.
The Super Eagles B team returns to CHAN after missing the last two editions and will look to make a big impact in the tournament.
