John Obi Mikel reacts after leading Boro to back-to-back wins

John Obi Mikel says Boro’s win against Hull City can be of huge importance with four games to go.

Britt Assombalonga pounced in the first half for what proved to be the pivotal goal, one that made it back-to-back Boro wins and a first Riverside victory since late February.

The Teessiders had to dig deep in the late stages, with Mikel himself in the right place at the right time to clear one off the line.

“I think the first half was a really good game,” he said.

“Maybe we could have killed it with one or two more goals.

“But we had to dig deep, it was one of those where we we didn’t play really well but the guys put in a shift and we got the three points.”
