John Ogu Backs Osimhen to Score 50 Goals at Barcelona or Arsenal
Nigeria international John Ogu believes fellow Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen could score over 50 goals in one season if he joins a top club like Barcelona or Arsenal.
Osimhen has been in fantastic form during his loan spell at Galatasaray, scoring 31 goals and providing eight assists in just 36 games. His performances have sparked transfer interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs ahead of the summer window.
Barcelona, Real Madrid, Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, PSG and Juventus are all keeping an eye on the 26-year-old forward. Despite this interest, some fans and pundits are unsure if Osimhen can quickly adapt to the demands of top leagues like the Premier League or La Liga.
Former France and Arsenal defender William Gallas recently said Osimhen has the qualities needed to succeed in England but might need time to settle, just like Cristiano Ronaldo did during his early days at Manchester United.
However, not everyone agrees with Gallas. Nigerian midfielder John Ogu strongly backed Osimhen after the striker’s close associate, Buchi Laba, claimed on social media that Osimhen would easily score 50+ goals in a full season at a club like Barcelona or Arsenal. Ogu replied to Buchi’s post with the words, “You no lie Buchi,” fully supporting the prediction.
Osimhen’s next move remains uncertain, but one club consistently mentioned is Manchester United, who are looking to strengthen their attack. Despite reports that Osimhen wants a very high salary, journalist Fabrizio Romano recently clarified that the striker is only asking to maintain his current earnings — around €12 million per year — which is less than what several United players earn.
This could make the Nigerian a more realistic option for clubs like United, who are trying to control wages under their new ownership group, INEOS.
Wherever Osimhen ends up, it’s clear he would bring goals and energy — and with the support of big names like John Ogu, expectations are already sky-high.
