Jones will not take risk with Etebo as Butland prays for Super Eagles star

Stoke City boss Nathan Jones has confirmed that his side will not take a risk playing Oghenekaro Etebo as they visit QPR at Loftus Road on Saturday.

The Super Eagles midfielder who scored his first league goal in Stoke City’s home win against Nottingham Forest is a big doubt for their championship clash as he faces late fitness.

Nathan Jones while addressing the media during the pre-match briefing revealed that the Nigerian midfielder is nursing a groin injury that may hinder him from playing on Saturday.

Nathan Jones, however, confirmed that the 23-year-old will not be risked for the QPR game if he is not fully fit.

“Peter is one of those we are keeping an eye on at the minute,” he disclosed.

“But I can assure you that if he is not fully right then we certainly won’t take any risks.”

Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland said he hopes Etebo will be fit again.

“Hopefully his injury won’t be bad. I think it was only a little niggle,” prayed the England goalkeeper.

Oghenekaro Etebo has played 25 league games and scored one in the process for the Potters.
