Mercurial midfielder of Akwa United, Seth Mayi, is looking forward to Sunday’s clash against his former employers and hometown club Plateau United in an NPFL fixture at the New Jos Stadium in Plateau State.

Mayi made this known in a prematch interview on Saturday night at the team’s hotel in Jos.

“It’s always a good feeling to be back home. I have been looking forward to this match because here there’s family and friends, a lot of history, a lot of emotions and feelings.”

“I always love Plateau United because this is my home. it’s not easy coming here but football is business. It is where you are paid that you will work for.”

The ex Remo Stars midfield maestro further described the match as a hard one for both sides.

“I know it is going to be a tough match. For me it’s a homecoming game, and I believe that the game is going to be very good and it is going to be a tough match because both teams are good teams who have written their names in gold in the NPFL.”

“Even though Plateau United has been my home and will always be home, but I wouldn’t mind taking the three points away from them tomorrow (today).”

The Jos-born playmaker also had words for fans of Akwa United who would not be at the stadium to see the encounter today.

“I love the supporters. They’ve been good and turning up in every game to cheer us up.

“I wish they could be here to watch this match because it is a very big encounter; but we are guaranteeing them success and victory by God’s grace.”

The blockbuster clash kicks off at 4pm.
