Jose Mourinho fuming at Manchester United’s lack of transfer activity

Jose Mourinho is angry Manchester United have not been able to sign all the transfer targets he gave the club to sign.

The coach fears United’s lack of activity in the transfer market could hinder their preparations as pre-season starts in one week.

Only one player has been signed (Victor Lindelof) before the players report back for training ahead of the pre-season tour to the United States.

Alvaro Morata, Nemanja Matic and Ivan Perisic have been identified as the other targets but their signing is far from being completed despite agree deals with the players.

Executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward however cannot be faulted for not trying hard, the Sun reports.

Mourinho fears that failing to sign Real Madrid striker Morata would mean the club would not be able to make up for the departure of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Morata wants to join but Real’s valuation of £80m is a set-back given United are only willing to pay £60m for a player who was not a regular starter last season.

As for Perisic, a £26m offer was rejected as Inter Milan want £44m for the 28-year-old.

The £25m deal for Matic could be the first to be completed although Antonio Conte wants Chelsea to have a replacement before letting the defensive midfielder go.
