Jose Mourinho sets unwanted record at Manchester United
Jose Mourinho has successfully set an unwanted record at Manchester United.
The Portuguese tactician who could become the first manager to win the Europa Cup for Manchester United if he beats Ajax on the 24th of May has become the first manager to lead United to their fewest wins ever in the history of the Premier League.
Following Manchester United 0-0 draw against Southampton at the Stadium of Light, a result which earned Mourinho’s men their 15th draw of the season in as many as 37 league games it means Jose has set an unwanted record.
Fewest wins by Man Utd in a Premier League season:
17* in 2016/17
19 in 2015/16
19 in 2013/14
20 in 2014/15
The result means Manchester United wins (17) remain unchanged and even if they win their last game of the season it would only be their 18th win of the season 1/2 short of the record set by Moyes/Giggs in 2013/14 and Louis Van Gaal 2014-2016 seasons.
Although, a victory for Mourinho on 24th of May could as well spell a good end to the season for the former Porto, Inter, Chelsea and Madrid boss.
