Jose Peseiro reacts to Nigeria’s historic 10-0 win against Sao Tome and Principe

Record-setting Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro has reacted to leading Nigeria to a 10-0 win against Sao Tome and Principe in an AFCON 2023 qualifiers game on Monday.

A haul from Victor Osimhen, a brace from Terim Moffi, and a goal each from Simon Moses, Ademola Lookman, Oghenekaro Etebo, and Emmanuel Dennis powered Nigeria to her biggest ever win in a competitive game.

It could have been more than 10-0 at Agadir, in Morocco the venue of the game between Nigeria and Sao Tome and Principe but the Super Eagles would be satisfied with their record-setting result.

And coach Jose Peseiro the masterminder of the result has given his view on the outcome.

“About the 10-0 win? Yes, it’s good,” Peseiro told reporters after the game.

“It is better for us [to get] three points, which is more important to us. Of course, I want to improve our organization on the field because we didn’t train too much with them.

“We want to introduce our ideas – this match was good because they tried to follow our organization, our style, our ideas. I am also happy because the guys who entered during the match did as well as those players who started,” Peseiro said.
