Jose Peseiro to Flying Eagles : Heads Up, you fought to the end

Head Coach of Nigeria’s Super Eagles, Jose Peseiro has sent words of encouragement to the country’s U-20 team the Flying Eagles after their 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup eliminition.

On Sunday evening, Nigeria was knocked out of the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup tournament by South Korea , following a 1-0 quater-final result.

The Flying Eagles dominated the encounter but were stunned when Seok Hyun-Choi headed home the winning goal in the 6th minute of extra-time to send South Korea through.

For their performances which included stunning wins over Italy and Argentina, Jose Peseiro in a message on Twitter encouraged the Flying Eagles to keep their ‘Heads Up’ having fought to the end.

“Heads up, Flying Eagles!” Peserio wrote on his Twitter handle @JosePeseiro.

“What you have shown in this world cup makes Nigerian people proud . They fought and honored to the end and earned a place among the top 8 teams in the World”

The Flying Eagles tutored by Ladan Bosso will now head home while South Korea will face Italy in the last-4.

Going forward, some of the youngsters in the Nigeria U-20 team have been tipped to get involved with the senior team managed by Jose Peseiro.

It is remain to be seen if the Portuguese manager will hand invitations to any of them for the upcoming AFCON Qualifiers Vs Sierra Leone.
