Jude Bellingham’s brother Jobe make’s Borussia Dortmund debut in draw against Fluminense

Jobe Bellingham made his first appearance for Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday night, coming off the bench in a 0-0 draw against Fluminense at the FIFA Club World Cup.

The young midfielder only joined the German club earlier this month, shortly after helping Sunderland win promotion to the Premier League through the Championship play-offs. He was a key player for the Black Cats last season, but instead of staying to help them in the top flight, he chose to follow in the footsteps of his older brother, Jude Bellingham, by joining Dortmund.

Though he doesn’t wear the Bellingham name on his shirt, fans know exactly who he is — and comparisons to his brother have already started.

Strong First Impression

Jobe came on in the second half and played just over 30 minutes, but still managed to impress. He had 34 touches, completed 26 of 28 passes, won a ground duel, and made three clearances. Fans praised his calmness on the ball and maturity beyond his years.

Fans React Online

Supporters took to X (Twitter) after the match to share their thoughts:

“Borussia Dortmund didn’t sign Jobe Bellingham because of his brother Jude. The boy clearly has talent and will improve a lot there.”
“Jobe Bellingham is good. Believe the hype. He’s tidy and will do great things at Dortmund.”
“If you watch Jobe with your eyes half closed, you’d think it’s Jude — same stride, same touch. Along with Kobel, he was the best player in a dull Dortmund side today.”

“Jobe Bellingham is not overrated… the boy can play!”
“So tidy, so composed. Jobe Bellingham is going to be a star.”

While it’s still early days, Jobe’s debut has given fans plenty of reason to be excited. If he keeps this up, the younger Bellingham could soon be making a name for himself in Germany — just like his brother once did.
