Juliet Sunday fires Bayelsa Queens to CAF Women’s Champions League Bronze

Bayelsa Queens FC claimed the Bronze medal at the 2022 CAF Women’s Champions League with a Juliet Sunday inspired 1-0 win over Simba Queens.

Juliet Sunday powered home a beautiful goal to hand the Nigerian club a 1-0 victory over Simba Queens in the 3rd place match.

A maiden CAF Women’s Champions League campaign for the NWFL Champions in Morroco, Bayelsa Queens FC put behind the semi-final loss to ASFAR FC to win Nigeria’s first medal in CAF Women’s club competition.

In the 3rd-place match, Bayelsa Queens FC had goalkepeer Bawou Gabrielle to thank for her outstanding performance to keep the tie level until Juliet Sunday struck the winner.

Bawou Gabrielle deservingly got the player of the match award.

For the top prize, defending Champions Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa will face ASFAR FC of Morroco to determine the 2022 CAF Women’s Champions League winner.
