Kada Boys and Queens win men and women National Hockey Super League titles

Baba Ndana-led boys and girls have won the 2018 National Hockey Super League after victories in their finals played at the Abuja National Stadium on Saturday.

The girls who are the 2015, 2016, 2017 champions beat Delta Queens 2-0 in the final to claim the 2018 title making them 4th time champions.

The girls were class higher than all their opponents at the tournament as they cruised their way to another title.

Led by captain Alfa John, the Kada Queens finished top of their group with a point total of 16 to set up a final against Delta Queens who themselves had 12 points from 6 games.

Kada Queens were unbeaten at the tournament as they only dropped points in their 1-1 draw against Rivers Angels.

Goals from Inatimi Nelson and Noredia were enough to drag Kada Queens past Delta Queens on Saturday in a similar result recorded when both teams played during round-robin.

In the men’s category the boys from Kadanu were too much for their opponents as they amassed a point total of 19 from 7 games dropping game points only in their game against Niger Flickers whom they played again in the final.

Kada Stars beat Niger Flickers 2-1 via shootout after playing a goaless draw in the normal duration to claim the 2018 National Hockey Super League title.
