Kalu on scores, joins Simon & Esiti to lead Gent past Genk

Samuel Kalu scored and assisted a goal as he combined with Simon Moses and Anderson Esiti to help Gent beat rivals Genk 2-1 in their Belgian first division A match day 30 clash at the Luminus Arena on Sunday.

Samuel Kalu,and Simon Moses’ Gent bounced back from their 3-2 home loss to Oostende in match day 29 to secure an important away win at Genk.

Simon Moses who didn’t start in the last week clash started on Sunday and Anderson Esiti who didn’t feature at all against Oostende was also recalled.

As early as 11th the visitors went ahead through Verstraete who scored off good ball from Samuel Kalu.

Samuel Kalu made it two for the away team in the 77th minute with another calm finish to make 2 for Gent.

5 minutes after Samuek Kalu scored his goal he was withdrawn and shortly after his withdrawal the home side reduced their deficit to one through Trossard in the 87th minute.

While Samuel Kalu was withdrawn in the 82nd minute, both Simon Moses and Anderson Esiti was on the pitch for the entire duration of the game.

Simon Moses, Anderson Esiti and their teammates did well enough to hang on to their away win and secure an important away win against rivals.

Samuel Kalu’s 77th minute strike is his 5th league goal of the season and his forst since 28th of January, 2018.
