Kanu Eyes Nigeria National Team Return
Super Falcons forward Uchenna Kanu says she is very eager to return to the national team after missing the last Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
Kanu, who has scored 20 goals for Nigeria, did not play in the previous tournament but believes she still has a lot to offer the nine-time African champions.
Speaking to Brila FM, she said: “I think at this point in my career, after scoring 20 goals, I still have more to give. That’s if I’m given the chance. My aim is to stay fit and stay healthy.”
The former U.S.-based striker added that she wants to help the team achieve even more success.
“I want to win more with the team. I want to score more goals. My goal is to return to the team and be back with my girls because I miss them a lot, and I’m looking forward to the 11th,” she said.
Her comments come as the Super Falcons prepare for their upcoming international matches, with competition for places in the squad expected to become even tougher.
