Former Super Eagles of Nigeria skipper Nwankwo Kanu has made his first appointment as boss (supervisor) at Enyimba FC.
Recently appointed as ‘ Supervisor ‘ at the nine-time Nigerian champions Enyimba International FC to replace long-term administrative head Felix Anyansi , Kanu Nwankwo has named a Sporting Director for the Peoples Elephants.
For his first appointment as head of Enyimba Football Club, Kanu Nwankwo has named former Nigeria International Ifeanyi Ekwueme as Sporting Director.
42–year old Ifeanyi Ekwueme played alongside Kanu Nwankwo during his active days, and was member of Nigeria’s team to the 2004 Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
A midfielder in his playing days, Ekwueme served had previously served as Sporting Director at Heartland FC, until their controversial separation in 2021.
He will return to the role, this time at Enyimba International FC where he will work alongside former Internationals Kanu Nwankwo (Supervisor) and Finidi George (Hear Coach).
The People’s Elephants will participate in the 2023/2024 CAF Champions League, after conquering the Nigeria Premier League in the 2022/2023 season.
Ifeanyi Ekwueme’s appointment as Sporting Director of Enyimba FC is with immediate effect and so he will be available for the clubs Naija Super 8 tournament participation in Lagos.
