Kelechi Iheanacho and Kenneth Omeruo shine in Super Eagles’ penalty practice
Kelechi Iheanacho and Kenneth Omeruo demonstrated skill and precision during the Super Eagles’ penalty kick practice in Monday’s training session.
The training, held at the Police College, Cocody, followed the team’s rest day on Sunday, post their 2-0 victory against the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon.
Mindful of the challenges ahead, the Super Eagles focused on penalty kicks and shooting towards the end of the training session.
Both Iheanacho and Omeruo stood out as the most successful, scoring all their spot kicks during the practice.
Kenneth Omeruo has already made three appearances for the Super Eagles in the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. On the other hand, Kelechi Iheanacho is yet to make an appearance in the competition, despite being a key player for the three-time African champions.
The Super Eagles, led by coach Jose Peseiro, continued their preparations for the upcoming match against Angola, scheduled for Friday at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium in Abidjan.
The practice, including penalty kick drills, underscores the team’s commitment to fine-tuning their skills and strategies for the crucial fixtures in the tournament.
