Kerr expects Curry to play in game four against Rockets

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr expects star man Stephen Curry to return from injury against the Houston Rockets in game four of the NBA play-offs.

Reigning MVP Curry missed games two and three of the Western Conference first-round series with a sprained ankle.

But Kerr said Curry is expected to take to the court in Houston on Sunday.

“I would expect Steph to play,” Kerr said on Saturday. “He scrimmaged today.

“We went full-court five-on-five. He didn’t have any pain this morning or after the workouts. So we’re expecting him to play, but we’ll see how he is [Sunday] morning.”

The Warriors and Rockets split the two games Curry missed, meaning defending champions Golden State head into game four with a 2-1 series lead.

Curry wanted to play in game three, but his coaching staff and training staff felt it was not worth the risk.

Now, everyone feels like Curry is healthy enough to play.

“It’s not pain. It’s like soreness that comes along with all that my ankle’s been through,” Curry said.

“It’s kind of to be expected and I see it as, this is kind of my play-off thing. Everybody has something they’re dealing with in some way shape or form.

“It’s stable … no swelling or anything, so I can do everything I need to do.”

It is unlikely Curry will have any restrictions on his playing time should he be deemed ready to play.
