Klay the man as Warriors crush Pacers, Spurs win again
Klay Thompson starred as the Golden State Warriors eased past the Indiana Pacers in NBA action on Monday, while the streaking San Antonio Spurs rolled on.
Thompson scored 25 points to lead the Warriors to a 120-83 win over the Pacers.
It was Golden State’s eighth consecutive win.
The Spurs made it six wins on the bounce with a hard-fought 96-91 victory against the struggling Dallas Mavericks.
In a rare feat, the Philadelphia 76ers claimed back-to-back wins, while the Los Angeles Clippers trumped the Toronto Raptors 123-115.
‘SPLASH BROTHERS’ UNITE
Thompson and Steph Curry led the way in Indiana.
In 26 points, Thompson scored all of his points as he sat out the final quarter.
Reigning MVP Curry added 22 points as the Warriors (12-2) soared on the road.
Without All-Star Paul George the Pacers (7-8) were dealt their worst home loss in franchise history.
SPURS SURVIVE SCARE
The Spurs (11-3) were forced to dig deep in San Antonio.
Dallas – trailing 92-91 – had the chance to hit the front with 15 seconds remaining but Harrison Barnes (20 points) missed a 17-foot shot.
Spurs veteran Manu Ginobili then hit a pair of free throws to give the hosts a 94-91 lead before Mavs guard Seth Curry (23 points) missed a three-pointer with six seconds left to play.
The Mavs have only won two of their opening 13 games.
Kawhi Leonard scored 24 points for the Spurs.
SIXERS WIN…AGAIN!
You would not believe it. After years of struggling, the 76ers finally posted consecutive wins.
Led by Joel Embiid’s 22 points, the 76ers trumped the Miami Heat 101-94 for their fourth straight win at home.
The Heat lost, despite a career-high 32 points from Hassan Whiteside.

HARDEN LIFTS ROCKETS
James Harden had 28 points and 11 assists to help the Houston Rockets to a 99-96 victory against the Detroit Pistons.
The Boston Celtics downed the Minnesota Timberwolves 99-93, the Orlando Magic lost 93-89 to the Milwaukee Bucks, the Washington Wizards overcame the Phoenix Suns 106-101 and the Memphis Grizzlies were too good for the Charlotte Hornets 105-90.
HAWKS LOOKING TO ARREST SLUMP
After suffering consecutive losses, the Atlanta Hawks face the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday. The Oklahoma City Thunder meet the Los Angeles Lakers, the Chicago Bulls take on the Denver Nuggets, while the New York Knicks go head-to-head with the Portland Trail Blazers.
