The NBA is not for ‘cry babies’ – Klay to Lebron

Klay Thompson leapt to the defence of Golden State Warriors team-mate Draymond Green after he was suspended for game five of the NBA Finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Green was banned after he was perceived to have hit James in the groin in the fourth quarter of Friday’s 108-97 win in Cleveland, which gave defending champions the Warriors a 3-1 series lead.

After the incident, which occurred in the fourth quarter of Game 4, James got in Green’s face, with the latter in turn calling the four-time MVP a not-so-nice name.

Then, James said after the game that he had a problem with Green’s choice of words.

“Draymond just said something that I don’t agree with. I’m all cool with the competition. I’m all fine with that, but some of the words that came out of his mouth were a little bit overboard,” James said.

“Being a guy with pride, a guy with three kids and a family, things of that nature, some things just go overboard, and that’s where he took it, and that was it.”

But Warriors star Thompson came to his team-mate’s defence by reminding James this is a “man’s league” and he needs to just brush those kinds of things off.

“I’m just shocked some guys take it so personal,” Thompson said.

“It’s a man’s league. I’ve heard a lot of bad things out there, but at the end of the day we’re competitive people. I guess his [James] feelings just got hurt.”

James decided to take the “high road” after learning what Thompson said about him.

“I’m not going to comment on what Klay said, because I know where it can go from this,” James said.

“It’s hard to take the high road. I’ve been doing it for 13 years. It’s hard to continue to do it, but I’m going to do it again.”
