Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has delivered unwelcome news as the injury concerns for the Reds’ defensive line continue to mount.
Following Liverpool’s thrilling 4-3 comeback win against Fulham at Anfield on Sunday, Klopp confirmed that defender Joel Matip sustained an injury in the 69th minute of the pulsating encounter and will be sidelined for an undisclosed period.
“We don’t know how long yet, no scan yet. But it won’t be a short one,” Klopp stated after the game.
The blow to Matip further exacerbates Liverpool’s defensive challenges, with the injury list now totaling six key players:
⛔️🤕 Diogo Jota
⛔️🤕 Joel Matip
The absence of Matip, a key figure in Liverpool’s defensive lineup, adds to the growing concerns for Klopp as he navigates a congested fixture schedule.
