Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp has picked Augustine Azuka “Jay-Jay” Okocha goal against the legendary Oliver Kahn as the the most spectacular goal in the history of German Football.
Jurgen Klopp who spent his entire playing career in Germany where he played from 1987-2001 told the Guardian that Okocha’s brilliant individual goal against in 1993 one of the best ever.
The brilliant goal was voted by the German fans as the goal of the season in 1993 and Jurgen Klopp explained the goal deservedly won the award.
“He scored the most spectacular goal in the history of German football,” Klopp remembers of Okocha’s brilliant individual strike for Eintracht against Karlsruhe in 1993 that the goalkeeping legend Oliver Kahn joked in 2016 still left him “feeling dizzy”.
“It took like five minutes of Kahn and his defenders diving on the floor before he put the ball in the net! Some of the world’s best players have been from Africa. George Weah. Didier Drogba. Yaya Touré. In their generation they were some of the best players so why should we not sign them? It’s great.”
