Kylian Mbappe: I feel at home in Cameroon
Paris Saint Germain striker Kylian Mbappe has revealed he feels at home in Cameroon, following a visit to his native country this week.
Born in Paris, France to a Cameroonian father, Mbappe decided to visit his fatherland for the first time since becoming an adult and received a rousing welcome.
Describing the feeling the superstar said he was not expecting that kind of welcome from a place he tagged ‘home’.
“I feel at home,” Mbappe said of his visit to Cameroon.
” I’m glad to be here once again. Many don’t know it but I came to Cameroon when I was younger. It’s not my first time being there. I did not expect this kind of welcome. I love this beautiful country.”
The forward during his time in Cameroon, Mbappe undertook visits to children with disabilities, MMA star Francis Nganou, Basketball star Joachim Noah and played football with local side Vent d’etoudi.
Mbappe is currently on holidays after the 2022/2023 season but will be expected back at French Ligue One champions PSG where he is subject of contract rumble and transfer speculations all summer.
The French National team skipper has a year to go on his contract with the Capital club, and is not willing to commit to a new contract and may be on the move this summer.
