Kylian Mbappe relieved after breaking goal drought in Real Madrid’s victory over Real Betis

Real Madrid’s star forward, Kylian Mbappe, expressed his relief and elation after scoring his first goals for the club in their 2-0 victory over Real Betis.

The Frenchman, who was under immense pressure after a slow start to his La Liga career, netted twice in the second half to secure a much-needed win for Los Blancos.

Real Madrid had only managed one win in their first three La Liga matches, and Mbappe, their marquee signing, was yet to find the back of the net.

The lack of goals had led to mounting criticism, but Mbappe responded in style at the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu.

The match saw Real Madrid dominate possession in the first half but struggle to break down a resilient Real Betis defense.

As the clock ticked on, it seemed as though Carlo Ancelotti’s side might be headed for another frustrating result. However, Mbappe had other plans.

In the 67th minute, the French forward latched onto a brilliant backheel pass from Federico Valverde, sprinting past the Betis defense before calmly slotting the ball past goalkeeper Rui Silva to open the scoring.

Just eight minutes later, Mbappe doubled his tally from the penalty spot after Vinicius Junior was fouled in the box.

Mbappe’s performance not only secured the three points for Real Madrid but also ended his personal goal drought, bringing a sense of relief to the player and the club alike.

Speaking after the match, Mbappe shared his thoughts on finally getting off the mark in La Liga. “I was hoping to score in this legendary stadium, the best in the world,” he said, reflecting on his first goals at the Bernabéu. “Three games is not a lot for other players, but for me, it’s a lot. The club and fans have been with me; they give me the confidence to give everything.”

With the goals now flowing, Real Madrid and their supporters will hope that Mbappe continues to deliver as they push for success in La Liga and beyond this season.
